Gull by Rocks

Hiraedd

Harper, sing of life
that lies beyond my grasp,
gather golden leaves
glistening on the tree,
let me dance with them.

Your voice so sweet
yet fingers falter,
eyes meeting mine turn away.
Sing on, sing long
lest silence soar

and the drumming of blood in the ear
mutes screams of a far-fallen gull.
